Townend hits treble top

first_imgPaul Townend completed a treble on his first visit to Warwick on Arbre De Vie and Glens Melody, both trained by his boss Willie Mullins, and on Robert Walford’s Camping Ground. She will head for the Grade One OLBG Mares’ Hurdle in which she was second to her illustrious stablemate Quevega last March. “She was the best horse in the race and entitled to do that,” said Townend. “That should put her spot on for Cheltenham, hopefully. She’s entitled to go there and with a big chance.” Arbre De Vie (11-10 favourite) easily took the Download Titanbet App Novices’ Hurdle by 11 lengths. “He jumped well and galloped on well. I’m sure he can build on that again,” said Townend. Camping Ground (5-2 favourite) defied top weight on his British debut with a promising display in the titanbet.co.uk Handicap Chase. The five-year-old French import was four and a half lengths too good for Al Alfa. “He’s only a baby and will be a good horse one day,” said Walford.
