Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis has outlined his plans for reopening of the state which will begin on May 4. During this phase, Florida restaurants and retail stores can reopen at 25% of their capacity. Restaurants can also use outdoor seating if the tables are six-feet apart. Bars, gyms, hair salons and movie theaters will remain closed until the next phase of reopening. Visits to nursing homes are also still prohibited. DeSantis also indicated that Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, which comprise the South Florida region, are exempted from this phase of reopening. More testing sites are to be open in the region which is responsible for 60% of the state’s COVID-19 cases. In the meantime, Exactly one week after St. Lucia announced that all 15 positive cases had recovered, the island said it has recorded two more cases of the coronavirus. The new cases are of a 54-year-old diabetic female and a 20 year- old male. Just last week, the island was one of three countries in the world where there were no active cases of COVID-19.center_img In Caribbean News, Jamaica’s Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton has confirmed that one of the 46 deportees who recently returned from the United States has tested positive for the COVID-19. The news comes after the United States embassy had assured Jamaica that the deportees were all confirmed COVID-19 negative. The island now has near 400 confirmed cases of the virus and the significant increase has affected all industries, including education. Speaking with CNW Prime Time last night, Jamaican Senator Damion Crawford said that the government has unfairly managed the impact of COVID-19 on the education system and has done a disservice to many of the nation’s children. Clippers giving out free T-shirts with new logo today in Los Angeles

Their red road jerseys will feature the LAC monogram. Additional alternate black jerseys will be introduced at a later date.The primary logo retains the red, white and blue colors of the past logo and adds black “to provide a modern edge,” the team announced.The curved lines in the primary Clippers wordmark symbolize the horizon of the ocean as seen from the bridge of a Clipper ship, alluding to the team’s nautical theme roots, which began when it moved to San Diego in 1978 from Buffalo, New York. LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Clippers will have owner Steve Ballmer, coach Doc Rivers and present and past players distribute T-shirts with the team’s new look at 32 locations today.Ballmer will be giving away T-shirts and cupcakes at Sprinkles Cupcakes in downtown Los Angeles from 10-10:45 a.m.Rivers will buy lunch for fans from noon-1 p.m at Pink’s Hot Dog in Hollywood, where T-shirts will be given away from noon-2 p.m. Ralph Lawler, the team’s longtime play-by-play announcer, will also be at Pink’s from noon-1 p.m.Other locations where T-shirts will be given away include Universal Studios (8 a.m.-1 p.m.) and the Santa Monica Pier (9 a.m.-2 p.m.) The silver lining in the wordmark signifies the renewed collective optimism of the fans of the team which has never advanced to a conference final in its 45-season history, but reached the conference semifinals each of the past two seasons.The team’s new LAC monogram depicts a blue “C” wrapping around the “L.A.” intended to depict embracing the city, a team official said.The stacked LA also takes the shape of a basketball court signifying “LA Basketball.” The new uniforms and logo were unveiled by Ballmer in an appearance on the TBS late-night talk show “Conan.”“We have introduced a new look that is bold, edgy, powerful and truly representative of us turning the page and entering a brand new age,” Ballmer said.Ballmer purchased the team last year for $2 billion from the Sterling Family Trust after the release of secretly recorded conversations involving Sterling and companion V.
