Cold Air Returns to Ocean City

first_imgColder days ahead as we move toward the weekend. A lack of blocking in the upper atmosphere has been keeping our weather pattern moving along quickly. Rollercoaster temperatures continue as we go from spring-like to seasonably chilly back to spring-like conditions in a matter of days. Our current blast of cold air will hang around through the weekend and we could also see some snow as well.Thursday will be the least cold of the next several days but it will be the windiest. A Wind Advisory is in effect until 11am Thursday as brisk northwest winds (20-25mph) with gusts 40+mph will make it feel like its in the 30s despite the sunshine.High Temperatures on Thursday will struggle to hit 50 degrees.A weak storm system will move through on Friday with a reinforcing shot of colder air. Along with the front, showers could break out. With colder air in place, some snow showers are possible mainly in the morning. However, at this time this system is weak and limited with moisture.Next front brings in colder air with rain/snow showers for Friday. (Courtesy: tropicaltibits.com)Cold air will continue into the weekend as Canadian High Pressure will build in. Saturday will be the coldest day even though there will be plenty of sunshine. It will be another brisk and cold day as temperatures start in the low 20s only to struggle again to reach 40 degrees.  It will be quite brisk with stiff northwest winds around 20mph with higher gusts making it feel like its in the 20s during the day.Forecast chart for Saturday shows the strongest winds will be early with wind chills possibly in the single digits during the morning.Less wind on Sunday but temperatures will still remain in the low 40s. Milder air returns for Monday and Tuesday with highs back into the 50s.last_img read more
