Kieren Moss attracting interest from Hull Kingston Rovers

first_imgMoss, who only arrived at the Bulls midway through last season, is one of several former Bulls players attracting interest from elsewhere after the former Super League champions were liquidated midway through last week.Since that news was confirmed last Tuesday, the likes of James Clare, Kris Welham, Adam O’Brien and Alex Mellor have all inked deals elsewhere, with the entirety of the squad becoming free agents. And despite Hull KR already recruiting former St Helens fullback Adam Quinlan to play at the back, Moss has now reportedly attracted the attention of the Robins as they prepare for life in the second-tier in 2017.He would face direct competition from Quinlan and long-serving Robins favourite Ben Cockayne for the fullback role.last_img

Jones feeling the heat

first_imgFormer Wallabies coach Jones’s side raced to a 12-0 lead in Bloemfontein on Saturday before the Springboks got into the game and over-ran them 23-12 to secure the series. It’s the second week in a row England have let a lead slip, with South Africa coming back to win 42-39 in Johannesburg. The defeat on Saturday was the sixth overall on the trot for England, who also lost to the Barbarians before they left for South Africa. The tide has seemingly now turned for England and Jones after they rode an unprecedented run of success and looked like a favourite for next year’s World Cup in Japan.”England … find themselves in a state of freefall, with questions mounting about how can they arrest it,” Gavin Mairs wrote in the Daily Telegraph.”The series defeat, on the back of their fifth-place finish in the Six Nations, has stripped Eddie Jones’ side of the status of genuine contenders for next year’s World Cup.”Mairs also suggested Jones’ job security was now in question, particularly given their fixtures as they finetune their World Cup preparations.Jones was initially lauded when he took the job after England were knocked out of the 2015 World Cup in the pool phase and led them to 18 successive wins.Three losses in the Six Nations this year, despite high hopes of becoming the first side to win three successive titles since it expanded in 2000, however, have seen the team slip to fourth in the world.”One hundred and twenty-six days have now elapsed since England last won a game of test rugby and the long wait goes on,” Rob Kitson wrote in The Guardian.”Whatever magic dust Jones scattered earlier in his tenure has long since disappeared into the ether.”The postmortem will become even messier if England are flattened again at Newlands, raising fresh doubts about the effectiveness of Jones’ training methods and whether or not he can drag things back between now and the World Cup.”last_img read more

Bale disappears

first_imgBegins to be more than a constant that the novelty with Bale is that he plays and not vice versa. In this busy month of January of Madrid, with two games in Arabia, two of Copa del Rey and three days of League, Bale has only been 142 minutes on the grass. And of them, 52 went against the Unionists in the round of 16 of the Cup. Where he scored for the first time since September 1, a goal that his teammates celebrated more than he did. The official excuse for that loss of prominence It has been first the infection he suffered just before he had to embark towards the Super Cup and then the sprained ankle he suffered in Salamanca. More firewood for your record injury record. But the team returned from Arabia and Bale trained normally, although then Zidane left him out. This Friday, more of the same: the Madrid 11 exercised with everyone … but Zizou excluded him from the call for the derby. The technical decision weighs more than the medical one, although the Marseilles coach is still grounded in his philosophy of not charging anyone on his staff. “Gareth is ours and I will always defend my players,” Zizou said before traveling to Zaragoza. Another thing is that, right now, the Frenchman feels comfortable dispensing with Bale. Even to attack a defense like Atlético and Oblak. The Tottenham option …Bale disappears from the photo while the Tottenham He has made some symbolic wink during the winter market, although there has been hardly any chance that he left Madrid. Nor was it the intention of the Welsh attacker himself, who prefers to wait for the summer to see what the market offers him and what needs to fulfill his aspirations. From England there was talk just at this closing of the market of a last movement of the Spurs almost desperate, something that has denied the football player’s own environment. Bale will stay until June, the only question is whether his role in Real Madrid will continue to decrease more and more … Gareth Bale has been disengaging from Real Madrid to the point that it no longer appears even in the matches of high rate. He has not entered the list for this Saturday’s derby and begins to stop being news that he does not participate in meetings like this. He always managed to be against Barcelona, Atlético and the great duels of the Champions League. Even that seems past for the Welshman. 2020 began by losing the media focus of the new Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia and will not be, again, against Atlético. In the Bernabéu, for more signs.last_img read more

Marcos Llorente: “If I thought that with Cavani it would have been different, it would be an advantage …”

first_imgForgive Madrid: “As they do not forgive you … We had a little bug there and that’s why they go leaders, because you fail and they kill you. In these games, if you forgive, this ends up happening to you. Soccer goes through streaks and happens to all clubs. Now we are in one where we don’t score goals but we create occasions. We don’t have to despair, we have to continue with this attitude, working, and together we will get it out. “Morata spoke of double arbitral standards: “If you say it for the penalty, I have not seen the play, it was far away. I hope and I think that the referees do not do that kind of thing that you say, and that they ask based on what they see.”Without Morata, the striker against Granada: “I don’t know, we will have to tell the coach, who is the one who takes the players to the field. I am sure that whoever goes out will give everything and will do well.”The mood of the costumes: “It’s not touched. It’s true that we have to do each of us self-criticism and see if we can give something else to the team.”If with Cavani or another forward of that profile it would have been different: “If I think so, it would be an advantageous opinion. We have to focus on what we have and what we have to do our best. They are assumptions that may or may have come another forward and we would have made a worse game.” Cerezo said that there was no justice in the penalty: “I was far from being able to comment on that. I have seen a penalty, but I was far away, that’s what the referee and the VAR are for and they have decided, for whatever reason, not to whistle.”Is it harder to get a penalty here ?: “I think it should be just as difficult to beep as in any other field and I hope it is.”The VAR did not enter the play: “He was very far away, that’s what the referee and the VAR are for and we have nothing left but to accept his decision.”They are 13 points from Madrid, do they give up the League?: “Until it is mathematically lost, we will continue to fight.”Does the first part mark the line to follow?: “We had a good first part, we knew what we were playing at all times, we have created a couple of occasions that we have not known how to fit them, it has been a good first part and we have to collect everything good.”They lack the goal: “We have a lack of goal, but no lack of chances. We create occasions to create goals and in the end they are streaks.”last_img read more
